Family Science: Dissection Discovery
Saturday, January 14
2 – 3:30 pm

Get hands-on and minds-on with your family! Perform a cow eye dissection guided by trained Science Center staff and explore the wonders of the eye – up close and personal! Through exploration, discussion and activities, we will focus on both the structure and function of the eye. Trained staff will be on hand to demonstrate so parents will be able to help younger children. Ages 6+ with an adult. $16 ($5 member). Family Science: Crazy Kitchen Chemistry

2 – 3:30 pm

Safety glasses will be a standard kitchen tool after we show you what experiments hide in your kitchen cabinets! From new ways to play with the classic vinegar and baking soda experiment to color-changing liquids, we’ll get crazy with kitchen chemistry. Family Science: Magnets in Motion

Explore the properties of magnetism and its relationship to electricity through this hands-on workshop as we explore how to map a magnetic field, build a compass and make a simple-working motor. Trained staff will be on hand to demonstrate so parents can help younger children. Ages 6+ with an adult. $16 ($5 member). Family Science: Where No Visitor Has Gone Before…

Join us where no visitor has gone before and see the ins and outs of our amazing six-story OMNIMAX Theater! Get a behind-the-scenes tour of the theater, projector, console and more. This event concludes with an OMNIMAX movie. $16 ($5 member). Includes admission to Great Lakes Science Center and NASA Glenn Visitor Center. All youth 18 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Explore the ways water and air come together to make the weather we experience every day. Create your own weather phenomena through hands-on experiments, sample liquid nitrogen ice cream and experience an electrifying Science Show. Ages 6+ with an adult. $16 ($5 member).
